At the end of the summer, the Reinik family introduces young listeners, readers and their parents to a new hero – the bear Richy Roo and his friends in the forest. “Richie Roo Organizes a Concert” is a new, colorful and interactive book of poems and coloring book, supplemented by an album of 11 songs and their instrumental accompaniment, informed and representatives of the publishing house “MicRec”,
As the publishers emphasized, this project is a real pet of the Rhine family. The author of the children’s poems is grandmother Veronika Reinika, the musician Lauris Reiniks has turned them into songs, but the author of the whole project idea is Rūta Reinika-Preisa.
“As I went through my previously published collection of my grandmother’s poems, I wanted to give them a new breath. Bring them to life, both visually and musically, so that little son Richard can have a nice family memory and we have something to read, listen to and sing on a daily basis. I wanted to create a book with illustrations that were in my childhood – sincere, loving and with understandable images. Artist Guna Miķelsone wonderfully perceived this feeling and created all the images.
It seems that musically we also caught the right string. From the first song that Lauris sent me, Ričiņš did not stop asking me to put it on again and again.
I sincerely believe that we have created something that will be useful in every family with curious, creative and music-loving children, ”said the author of the project idea, Rūta Reinika-Preisa, who also participated in the recording of a couple of songs as a soloist.
The book “Ritchy Roo Organizes a Concert” is interactive – each page is supplemented with a square code, which scans the poem “comes to life”, allowing you to look at and listen to the adventures of the bear Rickie Roo, specially prepared video versions of poems on the channel “YouTube”. The book also includes coloring pages and a CD with songs and their accompaniments.
“It was a big and pleasant challenge for me – to compose songs for children. They are the most demanding and honest audience. I had never done this before. The main thing for me was to like Rūta’s boy Richard. He is the main reason for the whole project. And I’m glad he really likes and demands to play over and over again. I believe that all other Latvian children will also like our bear Ričijs Rū and his friends and soon we will all be able to sing these songs together in concerts, ”says song composer and performer Lauris Reiniks.
The author of the book’s illustrations is Guna Miķelsone, but the graphic design was created by Monta Arnolde. The producer of the song studio included in the album is Jānis Zvirgzdiņš.
