FC Red Bull Salzburg

Red Bull Salzburg has struck again on the transfer market and secured the services of Edmund Baidoo. The 18-year-old offensive player from Ghana comes from Norwegian second division club Sogndal and has signed a long-term contract in the city of Mozart until summer 2029. The transfer fee is said to be 3.3 million euros. However, this could rise to five million euros through bonuses.

It was only in March that Baidoo moved from his home country to Sogndal, for whom he scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 22 games.

Seonbuchner “Very exciting player”

Sporting director Bernhard Seonbuchner explains: “With Edmund Baidoo we have been able to sign a very exciting player who, despite his youth, has already impressed in adult football. He has a good combination of speed and technique. He was also directly involved in many goals for his former club and we are convinced that he can show these attributes with us. We are looking forward to Edmund, but will also give him the time he needs to settle in.”

Edmund Baidoo himself says: “I am very excited and it is a dream come true for me. I know FC Red Bull Salzburg and I know that the club has developed many good players over the years. I want to be another one of them who succeeds with the club and then makes his way. I will work hard and do everything I can to achieve this.”
