“At this rate, we will have to quickly double our surface. We are also in the process of discussing with the diocese to occupy more of the Saint-Sixte diocesan house by 2024. Because we hope to welcome nearly a thousand students at the start of the 2025 school year”, rejoices Olivier Cuissard, the director of the ICP Reims Campus.
The Catholic Institute of Paris (ICP), in other words “La Catho”, has continued its meteoric rise in the Marne since its opening in 2021. That year, 120 students had returned to the new Reims campus, two years later, nearly 500 students will be enrolled there in September 2023.
“We attract both Marnais and Parisians”
“There seemed to be a real lack in Reims, and we attract both Marnais and Parisians ready to leave their families to become independent in a city where the cost of housing is more moderate”, confirms Olivier Cuissard. The offer of “La Catho” will be expanded, at the start of the next school year, with the opening of two masters.
“We are going to offer a MEEF master’s degree (teaching, education and training professions) for future school teachers and complete with a master’s degree in educational supervision, which will notably train executives of educational establishments, specifies the director.
“This diploma is under agreement with the Sorbonne University and we are quite proud of this collaboration which values our students. In the long term, the objective is to offer a choice of masters in relation to each of the 5 degrees present on the Rémois campus (law, social sciences, education sciences, information and communication, history-geography). If in Paris, the ICP welcomes nearly 10,000 students, the Reims campus has the ambition to welcome a thousand students, by the start of the 2025 academic year.
