A management tool for the remarkable heritage site, the Architecture and Heritage Enhancement Plan (PVAP) for downtown Reims extends from the canal to the boulevards, and from the Promenades to the limits of the Saint-Nicaise site, listed since 2016. On this perimeter, it aims, from 2025 and in addition to the provisions of the Local Urban Plan (PLU), to define the rules and guidelines for the preservation and enhancement of the architectural, urban and landscape heritage. To do this, the city of Reims has commissioned a study group to put together the file and in particular to carry out an inventory of the heritage and an architectural analysis for each building, to define the rules relating to the architectural quality of buildings and the conservation or enhancement of built heritage and natural or urban spaces. Thus, in the long term, once the PVAP has been validated, all the interior and exterior works and fittings carried out within the perimeter of the Reims remarkable heritage site will be subject to the prior agreement of the architect of the buildings of France. However, they will also be eligible for aid from the Heritage Foundation and the Malraux law and therefore subject to tax exemption. Started more than three years ago, this study is reflected in the field by the inventory of buildings, public spaces and plants in the city center, while reflecting on how they could be further enhanced. After a first public meeting organized on November 25, 2022, this work will be presented during a time of exchanges and consultation scheduled for Tuesday May 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall, and open to all residents.
