Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Reims coach Oscar Garcia quips Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) ahead of debut Lionel Messi with the Parisian club in the French League, Sunday (29/8).
Messi is almost certain to make his PSG debut when they travel to Reims at the Auguste-Delaune Stadium this weekend. PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino says Messi is increasingly adapting to the team.
“It’s been a good week for Leo. Next week will be a long one. If all goes well, we hope he can get into the squad and start the game. [melawan Reims], “ucap Pochettino.
Garcia does not deny that Messi’s presence at PSG has increased the prestige of the French League. But, not a few people who don’t like PSG can easily bring in a star player like Messi without breaking the rules Financial Fair Play (FFP).
“There are a lot of people who are happy of course [lihat Messi ke PSG], but there are also many who protest that PSG can buy players as they please,” Garcia said as quoted from Sport.
“They can’t understand, with financial fair play rules, how they can be allowed to pay players that big, and also make transfers,” Garcia continued.
Garcia is a former La Masia dropout and played for Barcelona from 1991 to 1999. Garcia admitted that he was sad that Messi had to leave Barcelona and move to PSG.
“I’m sad because I want to see Messi end his career with Barcelona,” said the Catalan coach.
