Rapper/songwriter SKY-HI’s trainee, REIKO, has announced her major debut on July 31st at the “BMSG TRAINEE Showcase 2023” held at Tokyo’s Toyosu PIT.
BMSG and Universal Music have launched the label “BE U,” and REIKO will be the second artist to join. It was announced that she will have a pre-debut with the release of her single ”No More” on September 1st, and the music video for the same song will be released at 7 pm on the same day.
Affectionately known as “Rei-chan,” REIKO is a 20-year-old artist who was born in the Philippines and raised in Aichi Prefecture. In 2012, she participated in the audition “THE FIRST,” organized by SKY-HI, which produced BE:FIRST. Despite having no experience in singing or dancing, she became a finalist but missed out on her debut. However, she signed with BMSG as a trainee.
Afterwards, she also participated in the audition “MISSIONx2,” which produced MAZZEL, the first artist under BE U. However, she left the audition midway. Due to these experiences, REIKO’s major debut has finally been decided, and the fans who were present at the showcase gave her a big round of applause and support.
A video titled “THIS IS REIKO,” which follows REIKO’s journey from her participation in “THE FIRST” until now, has been released on YouTube starting from July 31st. It will be updated every Monday, with a total of four episodes scheduled to be released until August 21st.
