REI Asks Banks to Open KPR Access for Customers with Non-Fixed Income

JAKARTA. KOMPAS.com – Deputy Secretary General of the DPP Indonesian Real Estate Developers Association ( KING) Royzani Sjachri suggested three things so that all levels of society can easily access housing loans.

These three things are to complement the previous Bank Indonesia (BI) policy of loosening the ratio loan to value/financing to value (LTV / FTV) a maximum of 200 percent.

Especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, banking generally tend to further tighten and limit the privileged people who can access credit.

“We hope that banks can open all segments not only for ASN, TNI / Polri, BUMN, and private employees who have regular income,” Royzani said in a virtual Mortgage Forum event, Friday (19/2/2021).

Royzani explained that many consumers are low-income people ( MBR) and do not have a steady income but want to own a house.

For this reason, he suggested that banks relax the requirements for obtaining home loan facilities for them.

This considers consumers with motives end user or buy to make ends meet, the majority come from people with irregular income.

Other than that, KING also asked for relief in the form of delays installments especially for MBR during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We hope that there will be a postponement of housing installments for MBR. At least for six months or maybe the tenor will be extended more than 20 years,” he said.

Finally, REI proposes strengthening the Regional Development Bank (BPD) in equity KPR subsidized throughout the region.

The goal is that BPD can also absorb and provide KPR to the community especially for MBR.
