Rehabilitation of the electrical system of operating rooms of the Bertha Calderón Hospital inaugurated

The Comrade Minister of Health Martha Reyes, next to Taiwanese Ambassador to Nicaragua Jaime Chin-Mu Wu and medical personnel, inaugurated the new electrical system in the operating room of the Bertha Calderón Women’s Hospital.

In past months the Government of Taiwan delivered to Nicaragua of a donation to improve the electrical system of primary hospitals Rosario Pravia from the municipality of Rosita, Carlos Centeno de Siuna and Bertha Calderón from Managua.

In this last healthcare center, the works were successfully completed, which allows us to have a modern electrical system that will not be altered in the event that the power supply is interrupted from the outside.

The Dr. Martha Reyes, Minister of Health thanked on behalf of the government of Nicaragua lA solidarity expressed by Taiwan in helping to improve the living conditions of the Nicaraguan people and particularly public medical services.

Today we are seeing the achievement of a goal and a dream that is the remodeling of the electrical system of the operating rooms of the Bertha Calderón hospital with an investment of 16 million córdobas. These works include the improvement of the emergency system in four operating theaters, the total rehabilitation of the electrical system, replacement of lamps and replacement of all the irrigation and current devices, replacement of the electric generator, maintenance of the existing main transformer and maintenance of the air conditioning of two operating roomsReyes noted.

In this hospital in 2019, it reported approximately 14 thousand 369 people who requested medical attention, 10 thousand 769 emergencies and 3 thousand 549 external consultations of patients transferred to other hospitals were attended.

Ambassador Chin-Mu Wu indicated that in recent weeks the embassy and the Ministry of Health They have been working hard to successfully confront the pandemic caused by the coronavirus in Nicaragua, bringing medical supplies and replacement materials essential for protection from their country.

A few months ago we were here at the signing of a contract to remodel 4 operating rooms and today we are here to receive them, to inaugurate these remodeled operating rooms and this is part of the coordination with the Minsa ”, declared the diplomat.

He indicated that Taiwan is very pleased to improve the living standards of Nicaraguans and particularly in the health system.
