“Good, Erich! Here for the 327th time today? Total or just this year?” It is a joke when, shortly before the end of the year, the Red Cross asks for blood donations in the primary school in Aflenz. Red Cross employee Erich Lenes was always present, not only lending a hand, but also regularly taking his place on the red couch. “Look, this is my 220th blood donation,” says Lenes, as he hands his ID white paper to a colleague who has sat down at the teacher’s table.
