National coach Walid Regragui considered that the Moroccan national team’s victory over its Brazilian counterpart (2-1) in the friendly match that brought them together on Saturday evening, March 25th, at the Tangiers stadium, is a “dream come true.”
“The players performed well and did their duty well, especially during the course of the first half compared to the second half,” Rekragui said, during the press conference that followed the match, noting that “the human composition did not give up and showed control over the course of the game.”
“It is not easy to beat the first team in the world,” Regragui said. We were aware that the match would be strong and would be played on small details,” noting that this match was at the level of the World Cup competitions.
He added that this victory is the first for Morocco over Brazil, who played the match without some players, stressing that beating the Samba team is a great achievement.
He expressed his happiness with this victory, which is a gift to the Moroccan fans, stressing that the match that will bring together the national elite against Peru next Tuesday in Madrid will not be easy. “We will give the opportunity to other players to gain more confidence,” he added.
The victory of the national team came thanks to the goals of Sofiane Boufal (D29) and Abdel Hamid Al-Sabri (D79), while the goal of the Brazilian team was Casemiro (D67).
