“Little Money” is a show about the most contagious diseases of the 21st century – indifference and loneliness. For diseases for which temperature cannot be measured. This is the story of one of the twenty-two thousand very invisible citizens of Latvia. However, the serious theme of the production is turned off in a relaxed, airy and witty atmosphere. The protagonist of the play, Jason, is his mother’s only child, and at the age of 40 it’s time to let him go into the world or, in this case, to the city. The money in this story is not just the amount in the bank account that Jason has the opportunity and right to handle, it is a metaphor for a fiduciary loan, and therefore a small one. Mom is afraid of her Jason, will she cope with life?

“I don’t want to lie and tell you that I used to be extremely interested in the problems of people with severe mental disorders. I chose the play because it had a very good story, very suitable for drama. I could go to day care centers, nursing homes, be at home, in families, talk to parents, relatives of such people, but I realized that the problem is, we have 22,000 invisible people in Latvia, people with severe mental disabilities. 22,000 invisible Latvian citizens, we don’t see them on the street, on TV or in the media, we just don’t have them, and it’s as if we have to worry about them, because we don’t have them either … But I started worry, “reveals director Regnārs Vaivars.

The director notes: “It is important to add that the genre of this show is almost a comedy, and I think that such difficult topics should be talked about as easily as possible, because that is the only way we will be heard. If I went to these people with a smile and I got that smile back , then I think my show deserves a smile too, because smiles create new smiles. “

The show is created by a creative team: director Regnārs Vaivars; scenographer Walter Kristberg; costume designer Madara Botmane; musical design Gints Rutks; video artist Toms Zeļģis; lighting artist Oskars Pauliņš. Cast: Kaspars Zvīgulis, Indra Burkovska, Dace Bonāte, Liene Sebre, Igors Šelegovskis, Dāvids Paičs or Krišjānis Botmanis.
