An IT professional from the primary and secondary school Pius X has managed to bypass the ‘Register yourself’ system of the city of Antwerp. He does this by registering students several times, with or without a fictitious name.
–
Geert is an IT specialist at the school on the Kiel. “I managed to get around the registration system by registering a fictional student at a school several times. And sure enough, I then received a ticket to enroll that student at a school ”, says Geert.
According to the man, it does not matter which name you give and you can also state a wrong national register number. “There is of course a chance that a pupil with a fictitious name or national register number will run into the lamp at the school of registration. But it is also possible that he or she slips through the cracks because of the crowds. ”
With his trick Geert makes no plea to enroll students multiple times or under a false name. “I do want to demonstrate that the system is not watertight and has its limitations. Digital registration is good on the condition that the system works and is uniform throughout Flanders. ”
The cabinet of Flemish Minister for Education Ben Weyts (N-VA) does not respond to this specific case. It does say that a new registration decree is currently being worked on. This must become clearer and more uniform and will take effect for the 2022-2023 school year.
