Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club has opened its doors for registration to participate in the 60-foot Sheikh Zayed Festival for Sailing Bearings, the regatta is expected to take place on 21 or 22 January, depending on weather conditions.
And it has been decided that the entry door will close on January 18, in order to determine the surveys taking part in the race, which spans a distance of 25 nautical miles.
For his part, Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Supervisor of the Heritage Races Department at Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, appreciated the interest, support and care of the wise leadership for heritage races in all its categories, noting that the 60-foot Sheikh Zayed Festival for Sailing Bearings is one of the stations during which the participants paint a historical picture full of challenges and strength. And the courage to go to the sea, which is one of the great heritage epics organized by the club, and find l ‘turnout of the owners of the bearings, the captain and the sailors, as it is the most numerous category among the regattas of the other categories.
He said: The Sheikh Zayed Festival regatta for 60-foot sail bearings forms a distinct platform in the marine heritage conservation process with its activities and events in the sea waters, and carries many noble and immortal meanings and values which have lit the way for the Emirates today with his great civil advancement.
He added: Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club pays great attention to historical regattas during each season, organizing many of them in different categories, which record outstanding successes and pass on the legacy of forefathers and fathers to generations in all its details and bear witness to a positive interaction from the participants.
Khalifa Al-Rumaithi commended the collaboration and engagement of Al-Bahra and Al-Nukhatha with the club’s match organizing committee over the last period, which has been successful, and we hope that the collaboration will continue with the same spirit in all the next races.
