Registration for the new kindergarten year in Abensberg – this is how it works!

The city of Abensberg provides information on the registration modalities for a total of six kindergartens and two crèches in the city area.

Abensberg. Unfortunately, no personal information meetings are currently possible in the facilities. The kindergarten year 2021/22 starts in September 2021 and ends in August 2022.

The three municipal kindergartens “Lummerland”, “Regenbogenland” and “Fridolins Kindernest” have agreed on a common time window and a common approach. The following applies to these three kindergartens: Interested parents can apply from February 1st to Friday, February 28th, using the registration forms that can be found on the Abensberg website. The three municipal kindergartens ask you to print out and fill in the registration form and put it in the mailbox of the kindergarten you want. At the end of March it will be clear who will get which kindergarten place.

The three municipal kindergartens

Kindergarten “Rainbow Land”: Three morning groups, one afternoon group and two full-day groups are offered in “Rainbow Land”. The children are mixed in the groups. We look after children from the age of three. Particular attention is paid to working with parents and promoting creativity. The “Rainbow Land” has a large outdoor area with a playground, mud area and hut village. The management is in the hands of Gabi Waltl. The opening times are from 7.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The “Regenbogenland” kindergarten is located at Erikaweg 2 in Abensberg (09443/7603, [email protected]).

Kindergarten “Lummerland”: Five groups are offered all day in “Lummerland”. In all groups, children from the age of three receive holistic support and encouragement in their development. The “Lummerland” has a large outdoor area with a playground, vegetable garden and bird’s nest swings. A trained cook prepares fresh and balanced meals for the all-day children every day. The pedagogical focus is linguistic and mathematical education and upbringing. The opening times are from 7 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The management is in the hands of Sandra Dumm. The “Lummerland” kindergarten is located at Römerstraße 18 in Abensberg (09443/1459, [email protected]).

“Fridolin’s children’s nest” Sandharlanden: Three groups feel at home in the children’s nest building biology house. Children from three years of age enjoy the various play options in and around the house. There is plenty of play every day on the large outdoor area. In addition, “Fridolins Kinderest” offers excursion and library days. The children’s nest supports all children holistically in their development. The opening times are 7 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., after the opening of the new canteen in spring 2021, lunch will be offered, as well as an extended opening time until 2.30 p.m. The management is in the hands of Birgit Firth. “Fridolin’s Children’s Nest” is located in Sandharlanden, Am Anger 32 (09443/3741, [email protected]).

Catholic Child Welfare Schools

The two kindergartens run by the Catholic Youth Welfare Service accept registrations from February 1st to February 12th. The registration forms for these can also be found on the homepage of the city of Abensberg. Please put the completed registration form in the kindergarten’s mailbox or send it back by email. The management will then answer you and, if you wish, you can have a first online conversation using the Jitsi video conference system.

Kindergarten St. Vitus (KJF): The kindergarten in Abensberg-Offenstetten is a three-group kindergarten with a large garden. Some of the focal points of the work are: religious education, physical education, early musical education and integrative language support. The aim of action is individual personality education through holism. There is a full-day group with care hours Monday to Thursday from 7.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 7.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and two extended morning groups with care hours from 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. The manager Michaela Rumpel will be happy to answer any questions on the telephone number 09443/2882 and by email to [email protected].

Integrative Montessori Children’s Home (KJF): The Integrative Montessori Kinderhaus is a kindergarten in which boys and girls with and without disabilities learn together to experience “being different” as something natural. In our house on the swimming pool path, 15 children each are looked after in two groups. The focus of our work is: integration, Montessori pedagogy and partnership with parents. The day nurseries

In the two “Wichtelstube” day nurseries, however, there is no fixed registration week. At both locations (Abensberg and Offenstetten), applications for the new daycare year will be accepted from now until Friday, March 5th. Children from ten months of age are accepted. Six groups are available in Abensberg and four in Offenstetten. Opening hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Morning groups and all-day groups are offered. Applications are available for download on the website www.kinderkrippe-wichtelstube.de. Forest kindergarten

There is also a forest kindergarten in Abensberg. In principle, there is still the option of being put on the waiting list. The forest kindergarten Abensberg has existed since 2013 and is run by the parents’ initiative Waldkinder Abensberg e. V. led. In a morning group, the children in the wooded area north of the Sandharlandener Heide are looked after by qualified staff in accordance with the applicable education plans. Rooms at the Abensberg Music Workshop are used as accommodation in very poor weather conditions.
