Regional transport tender: More journeys in the Regensburg network – Danube Valley planned – City of Regensburg

There will be two trips an hour in the morning from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and in the afternoon out of town at least between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. This applies to the following sections: Abensberg – Regensburg, Parsberg – Regensburg, Straubing – Regensburg; Neustadt (Donau) – Ingolstadt, Donauwörth – Ingolstadt and Donauwörth – Günzburg – Ulm. In addition, the BEG extends the offer late at night: The last trains from Nuremberg to Regensburg, from Ingolstadt to Donauwörth and Neustadt (Donau) and from Regensburg to Plattling, Neumarkt (Oberpfalz) and Neustadt (Donau) depart daily after midnight. On weekends, the last trains also run after midnight from Ulm via Günzburg to Donauwörth and from Regensburg via Neustadt (Donau) to Ingolstadt. In the second stage of operation from December 2024, BEG will double the express service between Nuremberg and Regensburg from a two-hourly cycle to an hourly cycle. Every second hour, the trains then go beyond Regensburg without having to change to Plattling – instead of today to Landshut and Munich.

The regional train between Neumarkt and Regensburg continues to run at least every hour. In rush hour traffic there is a half-hourly offer even to Straubing. Also in the second stage of operation from the end of 2024, the BEG will continue the regional train line Regensburg – Ingolstadt Nord via Ingolstadt Audi to Gaimersheim. The trains from Regensburg complement each other Monday to Friday with the regional train line Munich – Ingolstadt – Treuchtlingen to an all-day half-hourly rhythm.
