This work was produced in the period between 2020 and 2021, with which the compiled articles do not seek to describe or respond to the traditional analytical descriptive epidemiological situation during the global pandemic and particular epidemics of SARS-CoV-2, but quite the opposite. , situate a critical regional understanding by repositioning the specificity of studying, analyzing, problematizing and characterizing in depth the implications of SARS-CoV-2 on health from the global South.

The present research project therefore sought to understand, think about, and problematize the critical epidemiological processes and the response to the public health emergency of SARS-CoV-2 in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Likewise, it is also intended to study and problematize the learning, errors and limitations of epistemology, theories and public health policies operationalized in the epidemiological response to SARS-CoV-2.
