Regional Government says priority is “to set in motion economic and social support measures”

About forty businessmen from Porto Santo participated this afternoon in the clarification session promoted by the vice-presidency of the Regional Government, which was also attended by the Regional Secretariat for Social Inclusion and Citizenship, represented through the president of the Social Security Institute da Madeira, Micaela Freitas, and Vânia Freitas, president of the Madeira Employment Institute.

In this second meeting of the day with the business sector of Ilha Dourada, the Support Measures for the Maintenance of Employment Contracts and the Employment Support Measures in the scope of the covid-19 pandemic were analyzed.

At the opening of this session, Pedro Calado made a point of stressing that the ongoing initiatives “are not political”, aiming, rather, “direct contact with entrepreneurs”, his “listening to the problems that affect them, helping them equally to clarify any doubts they may have regarding the measures that are being implemented to support the maintenance of employment contracts and jobs ”.

The high priority of the Madeiran executive is, as the vice president reinforced, “to put in place the measures of economic and social support”.

“These initiatives that took place today – the first in the morning, the second in the afternoon – are odd, since the executive has not been limited to providing information through the media or its institutional pages and is a opportunity that should be used by businessmen to ask their questions and problems, since they can count on the technical help of public entities ”, maintained Pedro Calado.

It should also be noted that, as in the morning session, the afternoon session was attended by the Porto Santo City Council, Municipal Assembly, Parish Council, Business Association and also by the two deputies elected to the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira .
