Juarez City.- The Regional Blood Bank set itself the goal of attracting 12,000 donors by the end of 2023.
Dr. René Porfirio Amatón Tavares, general director of the Regional Blood Bank in Ciudad Juárez, reported that last year they supported a total of 9,171 donors, while from January to March of this year there was a record of 2,531. donors.
“The expected demand for Easter does not have significant changes. However, there is a higher than average stock due to possible contingencies. Yes there is a reservation. However, the invitation is made so that those interested in donating come to do so, “said the general director of the Regional Blood Bank.
He pointed out that in the Easter season car accidents increase, for this reason they need to capture more product.
The subtraction procedure is simple and takes about 20 minutes. Some requirements to be a blood donor are being of legal age and under 65 years of age, weighing over 54 kilos, not having diseases and in case of having tattoos a year must have elapsed, reported the Secretary of State Health.
