Regional affairs: a technical table for the revision of the Special Statute.

A technical table will be established with the Ministry for Regional Affairs and Autonomy for the revision of the Special Statute of the Aosta Valley.

The meeting with Minister Calderoli

The President of the Region reported this at the opening of the proceedings of the Regional Council Renzo Testolin who met the Minister for Regional Affairs on Thursday 31 October Roberto Calderoli.

The President of the Region expressed satisfaction at the start of the discussion with Minister Calderoli.

Revision of Statutes and Joint Commission

On the agenda were the continuation of the technical table for the revision of the special statutes and the activity of the Joint Commission.

«With reference to the constitutional bill concerning the amendments to the statutes of the Regions with special statute, the Government has declined the possibility of sharing a single path by the “special” Regions, first on the common principles and then on the review of skills.

«Considering the work already carried out together with the other Regions with special status and the continuation of the process already started by the Provinces of Trento and Bolzano, we have thus considered giving our availability to continue the discussion even if in a bilateral form» explained the president Testolin.

«The goal is to strengthen our skills»

«Despite the difficulties linked to different political visions, the objective is to strengthen our skills and to evaluate possible openings to reach a more protective principle of agreement towards us» specifies Testolin.

The President of the Region anticipated to the Minister the sending to the Joint Commission of the implementation standard scheme for the creation of an “integrated regional system of public finance with the local and instrumental bodies of the Region”.

«In highlighting the urgency of the initiative, I recalled how it is strengthened by the provision contained in the Agreement on public finance for the years from 2025 to 2032, signed last 20 October, in which the State and Region agreed on the commitment to prepare an implementation rule in this sense” said the President of the Region.

The President of the Testolin Region asked the Minister the need to reduce the timing of the work of the Joint Commission, in particular for the process of expressing the opinions of competence by the Ministries.
