Regional Abruzzo: turnout at 12

It will be a challenge until the last vote. And the final result of the regional elections in Abruzzo currently still appears completely uncertain. The polls are open from 7am and voting continues until 11pm, then counting begins immediately. Turnout is the real balance. The figure rises compared to the 2019 vote. At 12pm, 15.9% of those entitled to vote went to the polls, compared to 13.40% in the last elections (over 2% compared to 2019, precisely +2.47%) .

In the regional elections in Abruzzo the vote of the undecided could therefore be decisive. The turnout data recorded at 12 and relating to all 1,634 sections indicate an increase compared to the same time of the previous electoral round.

In detail, at provincial level, always at 12 a.m Chieti 14.88% of voters voted, the figure from 5 years ago was 13.17%, a The Eagle 16.79% (the previous percentage was 13.01%), a Pescara 16.13% (5 years ago 14.13%), a Teramo il 16,19% (13,46%).

The candidates

There are only two candidates running for president: the outgoing governor Marcus Marsilio for the centre-right, e Luciano D’Amico supported by the so-called broad field, the center-left alliance that goes from the Democratic Party to the 5 Star Movement, up to the former Terzo Polo di Azione and Italia Viva.

For Marsilio, outgoing governor and friend of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, it would be confirmation after the victory five years ago. D’Amico, former rector of the University of Teramo, is supported by all the oppositions: from the Democratic Party to the 5 Star Movement, from Renzi to Action of Carlo Calenda to the Greens and Left Alliance.

Voting guide

The voter must show up at the polling station with a valid identity document and the electoral card, recalls the Abruzzo Region. Anyone who does not have the card or has lost it can request it, even on voting day, from the electoral office of the municipality where they are registered on the electoral lists.

You can vote for a candidate for president, and the vote does not extend to the lists connected to him; vote for a list, and the vote also extends to the presidential candidate connected to it; vote for a presidential candidate and one of the lists connected to him.

The voter can express one or two preferences for the candidates for councilor on the chosen list, writing the surname or the name and surname in case of homonymy. If it expresses two preferences, these must be of different gender (for a woman and for a man, or vice versa, in any case from the same list); otherwise the second preference is null and only the first remains valid.
