Regiojet’s first ride to the Adriatic: beer, cakes and delays. But all without problems

The train went through Pardubice, Brno, Břeclav to Bratislava, entered Hungarian territory in Rajka. He continued through Hegyeshalom and Zalaszentiván to Hodoš, in Slovenia via Ormož and Pragersko to Ljubljana.

The train was delayed in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, it almost pulled it down via Hungary. There was a long delay, especially at the Croatian border in Šapjan, where the train stood for almost an hour. The Siemens Vectron locomotive in the colors of RegioJet pulled the train to Hodoš, via Slovenia the state carrier SŽ, as well as in Croatia the local state railway.

In the end, there were no alarming reports that the train may have a problem passing through Slovenia due to measures on minimum passenger distances.

The first connection, like several others, was already fully sold out. Due to great interest, RegioJet decided to drive daily from July 11th.

From the road to the Adriatic with the RegioJet train

– The train has a total of twelve cars, running on the line before ending in Bratislava. However, only one car is reserved for these passengers, otherwise the whole set is on sale for trips to Slovenia and Croatia.

– RegioJet has a special on-board service guide for the new line. It does not differ much from RegioJet’s long-distance commercial lines: free coffee and water, cakes for CZK 10, beer for CZK 20.

– How’s the luggage? Passengers have more options: there is a special space above the corridor in the lounge chair. For Astra cars, there is a standard space above the seats and also special areas for luggage storage. A children’s coupe has been abolished for this train, it serves as a lockable compartment for bicycles. Every piece of luggage in this compartment is marked. Shipping is free.

– One of the changes in the on-board service is a cafe in the middle of the whole set. The stewardess walks with black coffee or mint tea from the wheelchair, for cakes or coffee from the barista passengers must walk.

– The train is about 20 minutes late, which is mainly in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The Slovenian Minister of Transport, who was arrested yesterday, was also scheduled to board in Ljubljana.

– Slovenian documentary control is not thorough, but rather formal.

– The control by the Croatian police is also rather formal. The locomotive is being replaced, the Slovenian has disconnected.
