MIAMI, United States.- Well, as in Cuba every day is something new, now the Island regime has decided to “allow” Cubans to deposit their American dollars in accounts of the Cuban financial system, as one has been given to meet in a new resolution in the Cuba Gazette.

Marta Sabina Wilson González, Minister President of the Central Bank of Cuba was in charge of signing the rule, which now authorizes cash deposits in US dollars with a 10% tax.

Likewise, the new resolution allows “to extract cash in convertible pesos, Cuban pesos or freely convertible currency at the client’s choice, at the corresponding exchange rate”.

This after last December, Miguel Díaz-Canel, in the sessions of the National Assembly of People’s Power, ensured that the monetary system was “in an advanced phase of study and approval.”

At that time, the replacement of Raúl Castro assured that deposits in the banks of the Island would be guaranteed both in foreign currencies, convertible pesos and Cuban pesos, to which he also added that the population could count on its cash at the time when will need.

However, in the last months of 2019 from Cuba the lack of liquidity of the state banks was denounced, which caused that Cubans who had money in their personal accounts were unable to withdraw cash.
