Regime announces the arrival of a ship with powdered milk from Brazil – 2024-02-18 19:13:34

Castro authorities reported the arrival of a ship loaded with powdered milk, which was allegedly the result of a tripartite cooperation agreed between Cuba, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The ship arrived from Brazil this Wednesday, February 14, at the Mariel Container Terminal, also unloading rice, corn and soy flour, products that are practically missing from Cuban stores.

According to the Noticiero de Cuba, this is the first step of the cooperation initiative on food security between these three nations, a measure that has the objective of delivering food aid worth 50 million dollars to the Major of the Antilles.

“This is the first cargo of a succession that will arrive in Cuba in the coming weeks and that materializes the determination of our governments to work together…” said the ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Christian Vargas, during the reception ceremony.

In this regard, the first vice minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Oscar Pérez-Oliva, stressed that Brazil and the UAE are currently important trade partners for Cuba, and assured that the regime has great interest in increasing cooperation with them in other areas. necessary areas such as renewable energy and agriculture.

This cooperation project was agreed upon at the end of 2023, during the 28th Conference of the Parties on climate change, held in Dubai, where the designated president of the Island, Miguel Díaz-Canel, traveled.

The arrival of the ship loaded with powdered milk occurs in the midst of one of the worst economic crises on the Island, something that has generated discontent among citizens. On social networks, several groups began to complain about the situation, ensuring that their children did not have the milk that the regime promises each month.

After the ship’s arrival was announced, the same groups were skeptical, pointing out that it was a big coincidence that the product arrived just when things were starting to “heat up.” Likewise, they consider that the cargo of a single ship will be insufficient to cover the demand of the town.
