Reggae festival starts earlier this year

Tomorrow (August 5th) the Ruhr Reggae Summer starts in Mülheim. After a two-year break from the pandemic, the festival in Styrum wants to return to its old form.

The organizers are expecting up to 12,000 visitors around the Ruhr Stadium. It starts for the first time with an acoustic show today in the natural pool. The organizers want to relieve the main arrival day. The campsite is open today since 12 noon.

The Styrum natural pool is closed to the public until Sunday and is only available to festival visitors.

The Ruhrbahn only uses large buses on lines 122 and NE2 from Friday to Sunday. The Stadion stop will be slightly offset in both directions.

The city has put up no-stopping signs along Steinkampstraße and Raffelbergbrücke. This had already caused a lot of displeasure among cyclists in advance, because the signs prohibiting car traffic are on the cycle path of all places. The space for the cyclists is even tighter. According to the city, there are hardly any alternatives to the method used. The regulatory office considers the restrictions to be justifiable on request.
