Düsseldorf – High tension is guaranteed in the 2nd Bundesliga – and everything seems possible.

Leader Jahn Regensburg looked like the sure loser after a two-goal deficit against Karlsruher SC, but saved a 2: 2 (0: 1) with a double strike and is still unbeaten at home. There are 18 points to book. Only the flawless FC St. Pauli (16 points) can overtake the Jahn with a win on Sunday against Dynamo Dresden.

The SC Paderborn lived up to its reputation as the best away team in the league and celebrated a week after the painful 1: 2 against Holstein Kiel with the 3: 2 (1: 1) at Fortuna Düsseldorf, the fourth win in a row in foreign stadiums. And Kiel could not take the momentum from Paderborn and lost the north duel with Hansa Rostock 0: 2 (0: 2) under the eyes of the new coach Marcel Rapp.

On Friday, Bundesliga relegated Werder Bremen had defeated the previous third 1.FC Heidenheim 3: 0 (0: 0) after two bankruptcies and HSV just scored a 1-1 ( 0: 1) saved. In the top game of day 9, the unbeaten 1. FC Nürnberg will face Hannover 96 on Saturday evening (8.30 p.m. / Sport1).

Marvin Wanitzek (14th minute) and Marco Thiede (51st) apparently put KSC, where a contract extension with coach Christian Eichler is imminent, on the road to success. But after a handball by Karlsruhe’s Christoph Kobald in the penalty area and control by referee Deniz Aytekin (Oberasbach), Andreas Albers (56th) shortened by hand penalty, and Benedikt Gimber (58th) equalized less than two minutes later. “That was the worst first half of the season for us,” said Gimber. “We decided not to be so sleepy anymore, but then we got the 0-2, but the penalty kick got us back into the game.”

Good for the one who got a ticket for the game between Düsseldorf and Paderborn. 19 727 saw a “brutal roller coaster ride”, as Paderborn’s new coach Lukas Kwasniok put it. Sven Michel (9th) brought the guests from East Westphalia into the lead, Rouwen Hennings (34th / 58th penalty kick) initially turned the game in favor of Fortuna. But then again Michel (61st) and Felix Platte (83rd) ensured the sense of achievement. Paderborn took 13 of the 17 points away.

In Kiel, John Verhoek was the man of the day for Hansa Rostock with his two goals (32nd and 35th).
