Regensburg – SSV Jahn Regensburg suffered a setback against Holstein Kiel in their 300th second division game. In an entertaining football duel, the Upper Palatinate lost 1:2 (1:1) to the North Germans in their own arena on Sunday.

Regensburg slipped down to eighth place in the table after their seventh defeat, Holstein continued their climb with their sixth win of the season and is now eleventh.

Scott Kennedy put the initially extremely powerful Regensburg team ahead in the twelfth minute after a co-production with fellow defender Steve Breitkreuz. Julian Korb (35th) equalized somewhat surprisingly for Kiel.

Holstein goalkeeper Thomas Dähne (42nd) prevented the half-time deficit when Max Besuschkow saved a penalty kick. After the change of sides, the guests were more snappy in the duels. Alexander Mühling (59th) converted a penalty kick and turned the game around.
