Regensburg – Leader SSV Jahn Regensburg saved a draw against Karlsruher SC in the 2nd Bundesliga. The Upper Palatinate came back after a 0: 2 deficit in the passionate game and fought for a 2: 2 (0: 1).

In front of 8,790 spectators, Marvin Wanitzek (14th minute) and Marco Thiede (51st) brought the long game-defining Karlsruhe team into the lead. After the use of the video referee, Andreas Albers (56th penalty kick) made the connection. Just two minutes later, Benedikt Gimber (58th) equalized. Jahn remains leader of the table for the time being, KSC missed its fourth win of the season.

For a long time, the Regensburg team did not even come into play. The Karlsruhe team did not allow the home side to develop with clever pressing. The switching actions of Jahn literally fizzled out. So Wanitzek achieved the well-deserved leadership for the leading Karlsruhe team early on. After the change, Thiede even stepped up against a poorly defending Regensburg defense.

Then came the switching moment for Jahn: KSC defender Christoph Kobald got the ball in the penalty area, the video referee decided on a penalty. Albers and then also Gimber met for the late waking up Upper Palatinate.
