“In mid-April we have to make a final decision,” says Ludwig Hartmann from the organizing team of the Regensburg “Days of Early Music”. In mid-April, the three-person team, to which Stephan Schmid and Paul Holzgartner also belong, had to make a decision last year – and canceled the “Early Music Days” at the time due to the corona pandemic.
Ludwig Hartmann is still hoping this year and refers to a well thought-out hygiene concept. In order to be able to carry out the festival under Corona conditions, the organizers have removed major events from the program this year – such as the performance of Handel’s oratorio “Samson”, which was already planned for last year. Nevertheless, eleven of the 16 concerts planned for 2020 could be postponed to 2021, the festival is now to take place from May 21st to 24th.
