Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insisted that the deadly blast that killed two people in Poland near his country’s border was caused by a Russian missile.
Zelensky said military and air force commanders convinced him Ukraine was not responsible for Tuesday’s explosion and he couldn’t help but believe it. He also asked for Ukraine’s participation in the investigation.
“I think it wasn’t our missiles or our rocket attack,” Zelensky said on Wednesday.

When asked about Zelenskyy’s comments, Biden said, “This is not proof,” as quoted by USA Today, Friday (11/18/2022).
Hours after the incident, Biden also said it was “impossible to cross the line” that the missile was fired from Russia.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin agreed with Polish officials who said it was “highly probable” that a missile launched from a Ukrainian air defense system accidentally landed on Polish territory.

A number of world leaders and the president of Poland have also said it is possible the missile was fired from Ukrainian air defences. This statement at the same time eased fears that the attack could lead NATO into direct conflict with Russia, giving Vladimir Putin an excuse to attack the West.
