Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, the United States Rejects the Statement of the UN Security Council

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The United States rejects the UN Security Council (DK) statement regarding the escalating conflict and violence between Israel and Palestine.

The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting again on Wednesday (12/5/2021) local time to discuss the Israeli and Palestinian conflict.

Reporting from AFPSome sources said that 14 of the 15 members of the UN Security Council agreed to issue a joint declaration to ease tensions between Israel and Palestine.

Council member of the UN Special Envoy for Israel-Palestine Peace, Tor Wennesland, said the UNSC statement expressed deep concern about the latest situation in Gaza, and called for an immediate end to hostilities.

Also expressed concern about tensions and violence in East Jerusalem, especially in and around the holy site.

“Members of the council demand an immediate end to all acts of violence, provocation, incitement and destruction. They call for respect for international law, including international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians,” said Tor Wennesland. Anadolu Agency.
