Jakarta –
PSSI received praise from netizens ahead of the Extraordinary Congress (KLB). His praise regarding the decision not to hold an international match in Jakarta International Stadium or ICU.
JIS suddenly became the talk of the town last weekend. This magnificent stadium in the North Jakarta area was highlighted after the chaos at the disbandment of the Dewa 19 music concert on Saturday (4/2/2023).
The Dewa 19 concert at JIS was witnessed by 75 thousand spectators including several officials such as Prabowo Subianto, Ridwan Kamil, Anies Baswedan, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono to the first lady Iriana Joko Widodo.
The concert actually went pretty well. But problems arose when spectators entered and left JIS. Many spectators complained and felt uncomfortable, especially regarding access to and from the stadium and other supporting facilities.
The complaints of the Dewa 19 concert audience were expressed on social media. The disappointment of the Dewa 19 concert audience made PSSI even receive praise on social media.
PSSI is considered this time to have made the right decision by not wanting to use JIS as the location for international matches involving the Indonesian national team. This is because the supporting facilities around and around JIS are still not ready for tens of thousands of spectators.
“Thank you Dewa 19, we are increasingly convinced why JIS is not for football: Bad sound, minimal public transportation accessibility, small parking area, only 2 exits to the stadium area,” tweeted Jhon Sitorus via his Twitter account, @Miduk17.
“The actions of FIFA and PSSI are correct. JIS is only a district standard,” he added.
“This means that PSSI is right about JIS. The stadium is magnificent but very risky for holding the Indonesian and international leagues,” said the account @robbyxx10.
As is known, the problem revealed by netizens was indeed a complaint that was submitted by PSSI some time ago.
PSSI once conducted a feasibility test on JIS, but the results were considered not suitable for holding international matches such as FIFA Matchday. Not only that, JIS Stadium has not met 100% eligibility for infrastructure, such as the access road to the stadium is not up to standard.
To be precise, PSSI’s decision at that time regarding JIS’ refusal to hold all international football matches was said by PSSI Chairman Mochamad Iriawan when holding a joint meeting with members of the Republic of Indonesia DPR Commission X some time ago where one of the reasons was that the magnificent stadium did not yet meet FIFA standards regarding other supporting infrastructure. .
