Manchester –
Contract David De Gea at Manchester United just counting the months. Negotiations are still ongoing, but the Spanish goalkeeper gave a positive signal.
De Gea’s contract with Manchester United will expire in June 2023. Currently he is in a free position to negotiate with any club.
But the 32-year-old goalkeeper has indicated that currently his priority is staying at MU. Contract negotiations are still ongoing.
“We are still talking. For sure it will end well,” he was quoted as saying BBC.
De Gea was under intense scrutiny earlier this season, when MU had just started an era with the manager Erik ten Hag. His future at that time was also questioned, because it was considered not in accordance with the character of Ten Hag’s game, which required a goalkeeper to be good at ball distribution.
But then the situation changed, as MU’s performance improved. The ‘Red Devils’ are now in third place in the Premier League standings and have the opportunity to win the English League Cup, and it is difficult to separate them from De Gea’s role as well.
“I’ve had very tough moments at this club. Now I enjoy it more. This is good. The team spirit is good, the atmosphere too,” continued De Gea.
“Everyone thinks the same, plays the same way. The manager is good, good players who bring experience to the team, everyone always wants the ball, they are good in possession, it’s a mix of things.”
“Everyone fought until the end. It’s great to watch the team play and perform well. We are on a good run,” he concluded.
