Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – iPhone dominates the global refurbished HP market in 2022. Apple even topples other technology giants such as Samsung, Oppo and Vivo.
For information, refurbished or reconditioned refers to smartphone used repaired directly by the vendors.
In a Counterpoint Research report, refurbished iPhone smartphones are up 16% per year. Its market share also reached 49% or shot up from 44% in the previous year, quoted from BGR, Wednesday (26/4/2023).
BGR noted this achievement because of the AppleCare+ service on her phone. The service provides a one-year warranty on battery and exterior repairs.
With this service, it means that if a user has a problem with a refurbished HP, Apple will bear it.
Refurbished iPhones are also more accessible and less expensive. This is different from the latest iPhone products which were difficult to obtain last year and are also quite expensive.
Meanwhile, Apple also sells the most smartphones, almost half of the refurbished market, namely 49%. For other vendors, there are Samsung with 26%, Oppo with 3% and Vivo with 3%.
Counterpoint also reported that India’s refurbishment market toppled China last year. The Chinese market is said to experience a decline throughout 2022.
Senior Analyst at Counterpoint explains the HP ecosystem refurbished in all developing countries. This will impact China, where imports and exports from the segment are reduced.
A number of developing countries in Latin America, Southeast Asia, India and Africa have also begun to look at the market smartphone the rebuild.
