Refugees – Freiburg im Breisgau – Man after riots in refugee accommodation in court – Politics

Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – After riots in the Freiburg refugee accommodation with several injuries, a 28-year-old is on Monday (11 a.m.) before the local district court. The accused are charged with dangerous bodily harm and property damage, according to the public prosecutor’s office.

In the past week there have been several riots in the state initial reception facility (LEA), which is inhabited by around 750 people. Some people attacked each other with sticks, knives and other objects.

Several suspects were taken into police custody and later released. Only the 28-year-old was arrested in a so-called accelerated procedure. An accelerated arrest warrant can only be issued if the main hearing is expected within a week of the arrest.

According to prosecutors, the accused hit another man in the face with a beer bottle. The 28-year-old is also accused of damaging the door of a police car. After the riots in the accommodation, the country had sent eleven residents who had become conspicuous to other facilities. The police presence at the facility has increased.
