The residents received their first shot of the Pfizer vaccine in early February. Before the vaccination, employees check the temperature of the refrigerator, among other things. It was okay, but later log files from the refrigerator showed that the power supply had been interrupted that night.
Operation not guaranteed
‘As a result, we cannot guarantee that the vaccines will do what they are supposed to do’, says spokesman Marloes Lok of ZINN, of which De Brink is part. According to Lok, such malfunctions have never occurred before.
Waiting for test result
The eleven residents were among the last to receive the vaccine. They could not participate in the big vaccination round where 600 residents of ZINN were vaccinated, because they still had to wait for a test result.
Subsequent delivery turns out to be difficult: ‘rigid process’
The question now is when the residents will receive an injection. Because ordering two vials of the vaccine turns out to be difficult. ‘It is very difficult, we have not yet managed to get a backorder. You can’t just order extra, that turns out to be a rigid process, ‘says Lok.
Frustrating
‘It is such a shame that things are just not going well, because we are almost there’, Lok continues. ‘It feels frustrating, of course for the residents and the family, but also for us. Because getting two bottles turns out to be more difficult than ordering a bulk ‘.
