Reforms in Ukrainian Mobilization and Recruitment: Changes Announced by Danilov

According to Danilov, changes in mobilization will be announced this week. At the same time, Ukraine plans to use commercial recruiting companies. This should help to conduct a more targeted recruitment and replenishment of the ranks of conscripts.

In addition, the use of such companies should reassure conscripts that they will be in roles that suit their skills, rather than simply being sent to the front.

“Some people are afraid, afraid to die, afraid to shoot, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be involved in other activities… Now we have a new minister with a new approach,” Danilov said.

The NSDC Secretary said that cooperation is planned with the two largest personnel companies in Ukraine. They will work together to identify people who want to help the army, but do not want to be at the front.

“Mobilization will become more flexible, the specialties that are needed will be announced, and people will apply for a specific position. For example, they need welders or mechanics, and so on,” he says.

At the same time, the publication’s source in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed that contracts have already been signed with the companies, but did not specify which companies we are talking about. It is also unclear how “deeply” such companies will be involved in finding people.

At the same time, Danilov admitted that there are problems with mobilization in Ukraine, but he believes that these problems are exaggerated by Russian propaganda.

Russia is trying to stir up this issue, saying that we don’t have enough soldiers, that we have problems with mobilization… There are always problems in life, let’s not overestimate them,” he said.

What preceded

Let us recall that recently the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky held the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, at which one of the main topics of discussion was mobilization.

After this, the head of state said that he had instructed Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny to draw up a comprehensive plan for mobilization in Ukraine.
