Financial aid for asylum seekers may be subject to reform. The “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” reports that Hamburg, Bavaria and the city of Hanover no longer want to give them cash on a trial basis. Instead, asylum seekers should be given credit and payment cards in a test phase. A spokesman for the Hamburg tax authority told the newspaper that paying out cash was very time-consuming for the administration.
