The leadership of the Reformed Churches Bern-Jura-Solothurn has donated 15,000 francs for Armenian refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh. Two local organizations will use the money to help people.
A humanitarian drama is taking place in the South Caucasus, as the Reformed Churches of Bern-Jura-Solothurn announced on Wednesday. Tens of thousands of people are fleeing to Armenia. The Armenian state is not able to care for the refugees.
People lack food, shelter and daily necessities, it said. The donation goes to the relief organization of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Switzerland (HEKS), which in turn supports two local partner organizations.
