Warcraft 3: Reforged recently turned one year old. But somehow everyone forgot, even Blizzard.
Yes, the history of Warcraft III: Reforged is certainly not a golden hour for Blizzard. Even more than a year after launch, the new edition of the strategy classic doesn’t look good. In fact, it seems like you’ve completely forgotten about your birthday and aren’t even honoring the game with company anniversary gifts. After all, Reforged turned one year old on January 28, 20201. What’s going on in Warcraft III: Reforged?
Is the game still alive? It should be particularly bitter for the remaining players that Warcraft III: Reforged doesn’t appear to be developer-friendly at all. If you look at the current game “news” in the Blizzard Launcher, you will see the last entry in WC3 from August 27, 2020. That was almost six months ago.

The latest patch, which mostly fixed little things, was released in October 2020. Since then, there has been no radio silence.
Nothing for the anniversary: Another negative point is that Blizzard seems to have “forgotten” Warcraft III: Reforged because it is not supported as an active game. At least that’s what the current anniversary pack suggests, released by Blizzard to celebrate the company’s 30th birthday. Players can buy digital items here for up to € 60, spread across all major titles like WoW, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Diablo 3, or even StarCraft II and StarCraft 1 remastering, which is currently in development.
But here is missing Warcraft 3: Reforged. There are no goodies for this game. Reforged would have volunteered for this, after all there is a system for alternate skins or displaying player images. The fact that none of this is included in the anniversary pack, as if you’ve just swept the game under the rug, is a bad sign.
Are you still working on it? It’s not very clear. A few days ago there was a message that the team behind Warcraft 3: Reforged had disbanded and distributed to other projects. A new team is now in charge of the “Remaster” games, former employees of Vicarious Visions. It remains to be seen whether they will continue to work on Warcraft III: Reforged or take over other projects, such as the alleged Diablo 2 remaster.
It remains to be seen if Blizzard can turn the corner again with Warcraft III: Reforged. It would be desirable for the game to be revised and improved again, after all, Warcraft is an integral part of the company’s DNA. It would be unfortunate if this game of all things were buried quietly and secretly.
