First title: Chile’s new constitution did not approve the referendum
On the night of September 4, area time, in the referendum held that working day on the new constitution of Chile, according to the statistical benefits of about 98.44% of the votes now acquired, 61.9% of the voters opposed the adoption of the new constitution, and 38.1% of voters voted in favor. Whilst the remaining result has not still been officially introduced, because of to the huge hole between the current votes, this usually means that the new Chilean constitution will not arrive into effect and the present constitution will be utilised.
At 8:00 that day, much more than 38,000 polling stations across Chile had been formally opened and about 15.1 million registered voters participated in the referendum, which finished at 6:00 pm that day. In addition to Chile, Chile has also set up 286 polling stations in its overseas embassies and consulates to receive votes from Chilean citizens living overseas. Chilean President Boric stated just after voting in Punta Arena that morning: “Today (September 4) will be a day that will go down in national heritage.”
A referendum was held in Chile in October 2020. Nearly 80% of people supported the revision of the constitution and chose the “Constituent Assembly” manufactured up of all elected associates to formulate the new structure. On July 4, 2022, the “Constituent Assembly” formally introduced President Boric with a new draft constitution to replace the existing structure formulated throughout the Pinochet government in 1980 and which entered into power in 1981.
