The horses of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, achieved an unprecedented triple “hat-trick” on the day of the race of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, who was held today, “Sunday”, at the inauguration ceremony of the Sharjah Longines racecourse, consisting of 6 races, with the participation of 71 horses, while the total prize money awarded was 300,000 dirhams.
The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, president of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, Sultan Al Yahyai, general director of the Sharjah Club, Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, board member and general director of the Emirates Racing Authority, and Patrick Aoun, Regional Director of Longines, the sponsor of the ceremony.
The “rulers” of Al Wathba Races, owned by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, under the supervision of Jean de Roal and led by Dean O’Neill, confirmed his stardom in the main race, whose prize was of 100,000 dirhams, sponsored by Longines, and covered a distance of 2000 meters, with a time of 2:18:59 minutes, a new track and field record held by “The Secret” of 2:18:70 minutes since 2015.
The horses of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan dominated the first three places in the second half (Longines Record), for a distance of 1000 meters, supplied by “Sadiq Al Wathba” for the Al Wathba races, and under the supervision by Jean Dorwall and the “double” leadership of Dean O’Neill, and the winning horse scored a time and a value of 1: 05: 789 min.
“Farhan” awarded the double to His Highness’s horses, under the supervision of Jean Pecot, and led by Pat Dobbs, in the fourth game (Longines Conquest for Parity) for a distance of 1700 meters, recording 1:59:51 minutes.
The “prestigious” Khaled Khalifa Al Naboodah, under the supervision of Ernst Ortel and led by Taj Oshi, kicked off the ceremony by winning the first half title over the 1200m distance, the Longines Dolce Vita title, recording 1:19: 40 minutes.
AF Mahir awarded Khaled Al Naboodah, under the supervision of Ernst Ortel, double, when he snatched the prize for the third time (Longines Elegant) for a distance of 2000 meters, and the champion set a time of 2:21 : 59 minutes, led by jockey Marcelino Rodriguez.
Shadwell’s “Roar” horse, under the supervision of John Hyde, led by Dean O’Neill, who scored a “hat trick”, concluded the ceremony by recording victory in the sixth race (Longines Master Collection for equality), and it is the only one in the ceremony dedicated to hybrid horses, and it took place for a distance of 1200 meters, and recorded 1:11:83 minutes.
