According to Corriere della Sera, as quoted by TMWhead referee Gianluca Rocchi has scolded Juan Luca Sacchi who will be suspended for at least one game.
“No problem”
At the same time, the Italian referees’ association has denied that it is sexism that is behind the missing handshake.
– We can absolutely rule out that it was a sexist gesture or a personal rejection. For us it is not a problem, it was just something that happened that was misinterpreted, says a spokesperson from the union to the news agency Ansa.
Both Serie A and Serie B have several female referees.
