Reducing the administrative burden for farmers in the short and long term is among the main topics at the meeting of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council, which starts today in Brussels. The Minister of Agriculture Kirill Vatev will take part in it.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Belgian Presidency and the European Commission are expected to present the Council with information regarding the need for quick and structural responses to the current crisis situation in the agricultural sector.
Among the miscellaneous items on the agenda, the Presidency will provide information on the ministerial conference entitled “Bioprotection and vaccination: essential tools for the prevention, control and eradication of animal diseases”, which took place in Brussels on 24 January 2024.
Other items on the agenda include: information on TEU 7 and 8 (Romanian delegation), the CAP and food sovereignty (Italian delegation) and on the challenges facing farmers (Slovak delegation), reports the EU Council page.
