This Sunday, February 20, tram traffic in Dijon will be reduced from 8:30 p.m. A measure taken each winter and which allows Divia’s services to treat the catenaries in order to prevent them from freezing. Substitute buses will be put in place.
Tram traffic in Dijon will be reduced on the evening of this Sunday, February 20. From 8:30 p.m., maintenance work will be carried out on lines T1 and T2.
Like every winter, the purpose of this work is to prevent the catenaries from freezing. The measures put in place consist of:
- spraying anti-freeze products on the catenaries
- the spraying of a treatment on the 42 km of overhead contact lines
- panto-scrapers (devices installed on the roof of trams) on the first trains running in the morning, in order to de-ice the overhead contact lines
- the implementation of the “long nights driving” system, i.e. running a train at night to prevent frost from reaching the catenaries
Divia also specifies that the platforms of the stations could be salted, if the weather requires it.
In order to compensate for the reduction in the number of trams in circulation, substitute buses will be set up on the Chenôve Center – Dijon Valmy and Gare SNCF – Quetigny Center routes.
