reduced notch, Touch ID under the screen … this video reveals the design of Apple’s smartphone

The iPhone 13 Pro looks very similar to the iPhone 12 Pro. However, Apple has incorporated a few new features and changes to its new high-end flagship, including a more discreet notch and a Touch ID fingerprint reader under the screen. It’s a first !

In collaboration with the Dutch media LetsGoDigital, Jermaine Smit, the talented graphic designer behind the Concept Creator YouTube channel, has developed sublime renderings showing the iPhone 13 Pro, one of the two premium models of the iPhone 13 range. Like last year, Apple will indeed decline the new generation of iPhone in 4 versions: a standard iPhone 13, an iPhone 13 mini, an iPhone 13 Pro and an iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Unsurprisingly, the graphic designer relied on the various rumors that appeared on the web in recent months to develop the renderings. We therefore invite you to take the novelties and changes illustrated in the images with a certain distance. It is not uncommon for Apple to manage to keep certain elements secret until the keynote.

An iPhone 13 Pro very similar to the iPhone 12 Pro, no revolution this year!

First of all, we will notice that iPhone 13 Pro is not much different from iPhone 12 Pro. Apple uses the fundamentals introduced last year, such as the angular all-metal frame reminiscent of old iPhones and flat edges. As TrendForce analysts recently pointed out, this is a transitional generation for the Californian giant.

However, changes are on the program. Apple has finally managed to reduce the size of the notch that houses the sensors essential for the operation of Face ID facial recognition. To save space, Apple now has the speaker above the TrueDepth sensors, in the top border rather than in the center of the notch. This much anticipated change has been confirmed multiple times in recent months.

In addition to Face ID, Apple includes a Touch ID fingerprint reader. For the very first time, this sensor is slipped under the screen. It is also the first time thatApple offers two methods of biometric authentication. For the sake of minimalism, the company had bet everything on Face ID so far. The generalization of the wearing of the mask has forced Apple to review its plans.
