Reduced iPhone 13 production volumes

U.S. information technology giant Apple Inc. is unlikely to meet new iPhone production targets by the end of the year, given the global semiconductor deficit, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday.

Apple had planned to produce 90 million iPhones by the end of the year, but the company will have to settle for 80 million smartphones produced because Broadcom and Texas Instruments suppliers are unable to meet demand, citing a well-informed source, Bloomberg News.

Meanwhile, analyst firm Wedbush points out that Apple will have a deficit of more than five million iPhone 13s this Christmas season if consumer demand remains at that level.

In September, Apple introduced four new iPhone models – the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
