Reduce the risk of bird flu, poultry in France subject to lockdown

Ministry of Agriculture French said separately that 130 outbreaks bird flu on wild birds and poultry farms have been found since August in Europe.

So far no cases have been found among professional poultry farmers in France.

The French government hopes that efforts lockdown will help avoid a repeat of last year, when bird flu was found in nearly 500 sites, severely disrupting production foie gras (French food) from duck in southwestern France.
