Selular.ID – Oppo Pad and Realme Pad have been officially introduced by the two companies as their first tablet devices.
There is no official statement yet, but both devices are predicted to be officially sold in the country.
After the two affordable tablets were introduced, not to be outdone, Xiaomi is reportedly concocting cheap tablet devices too.
The Redmi Pad can theoretically compete with the budget-friendly Realme Pad and Nokia T20 tablets.
Previously, Xiaomi has offered a line of Pad tablets since the Mi Pad premiered in 2014.
This lineup is generally a mid-range offering, but it looks like the company has another line of tablets in the works.

Xiaomi recently sent out a survey to some Chinese users, and according to rumors, one of the questions mentioned the Redmi Pad 5G.
Apart from the “Pad” moniker which tells it this is a tablet, other names appear alongside other options such as Xiaomi Pad 5, Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, and the “other” option.
According to the leak, the survey asks users about using the Mi Magic Sharing Center, which allows sharing of unlimited content across Xiaomi devices.

There seems to be room for a more affordable Xiaomi tablet when you look at the company’s current offerings.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 starts at IDR 5 million, features an 11-inch screen and Snapdragon 860 SoC.
Meanwhile, cheap devices such as the Realme Pad series and Nokia T20 offer low-end specifications and a price tag of IDR 3 million.
So the Redmi Pad could theoretically fill this price gap and compete with newer tablets like Realme and Nokia.
It’s also interesting to note that the Redmi Pad’s real support for 5G connectivity, which is a rarity on cheap tablets.

However, the Android tablet market has been volatile again due to demand during the pandemic. So it’s the perfect time for Redmi to join the party with something special.
