The Xiaomi company under the Redmi brand this year presented a whole constellation of smartphones in the Redmi Note 12 series, while all of these new products arrived on the market with the outdated Android 12. The manufacturer gradually corrected this defect for most of the smartphones in this series, one of the last to be omitted was the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, which however, that should change very soon.
Android 13 is heading to the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G
To be fair, we have to mention that the main bearer of changes for Xiaomi smartphones is traditionally the MIUI superstructure, thanks to which you have almost no chance to notice the absence of the latest Android. It was the Redmi Note 12 smartphones that already had the latest MIUI 14 when they were well on the market, so the update to Android 13 will probably not be as crucial for their owners as in the case of smartphones from other brands. But now back to the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G. This will see the latest Android among the last representatives of the given series.
In addition, compared to the basic and very affordable Redmi Note 12 4G and the most equipped Pro+ 5G model, this smartphone maybe a little aside from mainstream interest. At the same time, it does not deserve it at all, as it has very interesting equipment, led by a 120Hz AMOLED display, a relatively powerful chipset Mediatek Dimensity 1080 and a primary camera with optical stabilization and, more recently, a “flagship” sensor Sony IMX766.
The update to Android 13 will be available in the coming days for smartphones intended for European markets. The first build with the current Android should then be labeled MIUI-V14.0.3.0.TMOEUXM. As for the changes associated with this compilation, as already mentioned above, there are not many of them, but there are some. First, users should wait new animations, the overall fluidity of the system should improve. The obligatory promise of improving the endurance and performance of the phone must not be missing. Finally, it is worth noting that, like the other representatives of this series, the “Pro 5G” variant has yet to wait one big OS update a to na Android 14.
