Redmi showed a new series yesterday as part of the Chinese premiere Redmi Note 12. The presentation involved four models that for now will only be sold in China. The presentation of the global versions is expected to happen very soon, but it is unclear whether phones in Europe will have the same hardware, or if all four model variants will catch up with us. The most interesting news with an epithet Discovery Edition shows what Redmi can achieve in a phone for 10k. Well, if you want, you can.
Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition
The most equipped model of the series is a smartphone nicknamed “Discovery Edition”, which was equipped with a 6.67 “OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD + resolution. A 16MP selfie camera awaits in the opening of the display, the processing power is provided by the Mediatek Dimensity 1080 with support for 5G networks, obviously on the phone you will find a headphone jack and an infrared port, local connectivity includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6 and NFC.

A rather unexpected addition is the cameras on the back. The main sensor has a resolution of 200MPx, so it will be one of the most affordable 200MP camera phones on the market. The phone uses ISOCELL HPX sensors with F1.65 aperture and optical stabilization. The main camera is complemented by an 8 Mpx wide angle and a 2 Mpx macro.
Another important parameter in the specifications is the support for a record 210W cable charging. The charge for ultrafast charging (the phone charges from zero to one hundred in just 9 minutes) is the battery, which has a capacity of only 4,300mAh. And the price? Redmi pulled out, the phone in the 8/256 GB memory configuration will cost less than ten thousand crowns after calculation and taxes. And if this version of the phone came to the Czech Republic for the same price, we wouldn’t be against it at all …
Three basic variants
If you want a 200 Mpx photo car and a bigger flashlight to go with it, here it is Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. The only change was the battery, which has a capacity of 5,000 mAh. However, thanks to this, the maximum charging power has been reduced to a good 120 Watts, however very respectable. You can charge your phone from zero to one hundred in 19 minutes. The rest of the phone hardware remains unchanged. Price? Calculated with taxes, a whopping 8,600 CZK. And this applies to the 8/256 GB variant.

And if megapixels aren’t that important to you, there’s still a basic model Redmi Note 12 Pro. This smartphone has a 50 Mpx Sony IMX766 sensor on the back, which is used by much more expensive phones. For instance. Oppo Find X5 Pro or Asus Zenfone 9. The other two sensors remain the same. The battery still has a capacity of 5,000 mAh, but the maximum charging power has dropped to 67 Watts. Even so, you can get the battery from a discharged to full state in a decent 46 minutes. The basic variant 6/128 is converted into seven thousand crowns.

And then there is the basic one Redmi Note 12 it goes even lower with specs. You can charge a 5,000mAh battery with 33 Watts. The main camera has a resolution of 48 megapixels and there is only a 2Mpx macro for the party. The selfie is eight megapixels, the performance is provided by Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 along with 8GB of RAM, the storage has a capacity of 256GB.
